About Journal Writing

For me, the practice of journal writing has been a life-long process of discovery.  It is a safe way to develop and maintain an intimate relationship with my True Self.  We live in a world surrounded by noise and activity.  Our lives may feel like an endless “To Do” list, lacking balance, joy, and meaning.  Are we running our lives or are our lives running us?  Often we don’t take the time to be quiet and reflect.  In fact, we may not even know how to be quiet and listen to our inner voice.

Journaling is a tool that can be used to give expression to our innermost thoughts and feelings.  A journal is a safe place to ask questions:  Who am I?  Why am I in physical form?  What gives my life meaning?  What am I afraid of?  How do I create a deeply fulfilling life experience?  What is truly important?  What beliefs can I release, that no longer serve me?   What lies deep in my soul that desires expression?  How can I make a difference?  As we live with these questions over time, our authentic self is revealed and we   feel a greater sense of empowerment, congruence, and peace.

The spiritual journey is always about transforming ourselves, not other people or situations.  The journal is a safe place to examine what we need to change in order to live a more harmonious life.  Having a place to record our personal truth, is transformative.  There is a freedom to be found in journal writing.  Each of us has the opportunity to navigate his or her own soul… discovering uncharted territory.  And the reward for our willingness to embark on this inner journey is peace, acceptance, healing, forgiveness, fulfillment, love, and joy.
